Rachel then returned to Singapore to study Classical Piano at Lasalle College of the Arts, where she graduated with honours. She furthered her education with a Master's degree in Music (with a dean's recommendation) from the University of Queensland, Australia, specializing in pedagogy, research, advanced theory, and choral conducting

Known for her lively and engaging teaching style, Rachel is committed to understanding each student’s unique needs, tailoring her approach to foster their growth. She guides students in discovering their musical identity, believing that finding their passion will inspire intrinsic motivation to practice and develop a lifelong love for music.

Rachel is highly knowledgeable about the ABRSM syllabus and has assisted students with their MOE MEP/music program requirements. She has also helped students prepare for various related music exams. While she has successfully led her students to distinctions, merits, and excellent grades, she believes that exams are valuable milestones for tracking progress but should never be the ultimate goal of the learning process. Her hope is that all students develop a musical and passionate approach to playing the piano.

In addition to teaching, Rachel is a mother to three primary school-aged children. She enjoys food, hosting friends, and being active outdoors.
